“I only bring you technology I want to use on myself first. Sofwave earned its place in our rooms. It’s the lift I reach for before anyone reaches for a knife.”

– Catherine Durboraw, M.D., Founder of Center for Aesthetics

Sofwave is a non-invasive ultrasound treatment that lifts and firms the skin by waking up your body’s own collagen. It works on the face, brow, neck, and body with no needles, no incisions, and no downtime, and the results keep improving for months after a single session.

Somewhere in your forties or fifties, the mirror starts running a little behind your energy. The jawline softens. The neck loosens. The skin on your arms loses its snap. You are not looking for a different face. You are looking for your own, rested and lifted, without surgery and without anyone knowing you did a thing.

That is what Sofwave was built to do, and it is why Dr. Durboraw brought it to the Center for Aesthetics’ medical clinics.

How Sofwave Works

Sofwave uses a technology called Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam, or SUPERB. It sends precise ultrasound energy to the mid-dermis, the exact layer of your skin where collagen and elastin live and where the visible signs of aging begin. There, it creates tiny, controlled points of thermal energy that prompt your body to rebuild.

The response is a triple action. Sofwave triggers neocollagenesis, the making of fresh collagen, while also stimulating elastin and hyaluronic acid, the three things your skin produces less of every year after your early thirties. A built-in cooling layer protects the surface of your skin the whole time, so the energy goes exactly where it belongs and the skin is never broken.

Nothing is injected. Nothing is cut. Your own skin does the work.

What Sofwave Treats

Sofwave is FDA-cleared and well suited to a wide range of concerns. On the face, it lifts and firms the brow, the area beneath the chin, and the neck, and it softens fine lines and wrinkles. On the body, it tightens lax, crepey skin, including the harder-to-treat inner upper arms and legs. It also refreshes overall skin quality, the kind of natural skin rejuvenation that looks like rest, not work.

What Results Look Like

Most people notice their first changes within a few weeks, and the full results build over the following months as new collagen forms. Because that collagen is real, healthy tissue your body made, it holds well past a year. Many patients keep a single maintenance session on the calendar each year to preserve it.

The goal is never to look like a different person, only the most rested, lifted version of yourself.

Why Sofwave at the Center for Aesthetics

A device is only as good as the hand that guides it. Center for Aesthetics was founded by Dr. Catherine Durboraw, a board-certified, ASOPRS fellowship-trained oculoplastic surgeon who has pursued a less-invasive approach to aging since 1998. Every treatment we offer follows The Catherine Method, our promise of prevention first, premier technology, personalization, partnership, and positivity. We do not run a menu of trends. We study your face and build a plan around what already makes you you.

That is what we mean when we call ourselves the anti-med spa. More innovative, less invasive, with real results, in pursuit of your definition of beauty, never anyone else’s.

Sofwave Frequently Asked Questions

What is Sofwave and how does it work?

Sofwave is a non-invasive skin tightening treatment that uses ultrasound energy to stimulate collagen in the mid-dermis, the layer of skin where firmness begins. It delivers controlled heat just beneath the surface while integrated cooling protects the outer skin, so nothing is injected and the surface is never broken. It is FDA-cleared for improving fine lines and wrinkles and for lifting areas such as the brow, neck, and beneath the chin.

Am I a good candidate for Sofwave?

The best candidates have mild to moderate skin laxity and early signs of aging rather than advanced sagging. It is popular with people from their thirties through their sixties who want non-surgical tightening with minimal downtime. Because ultrasound bypasses the pigment in the skin’s surface, Sofwave is considered safe for all skin types and tones. A consultation confirms whether it is right for you.

What results can I expect, and how long do they last?

Sofwave produces subtle, natural-looking tightening and lifting, not the dramatic effect of a facelift. Many people notice their first changes within two to four weeks, and the full results continue to build over the following months as new collagen forms. Because that collagen is your own healthy tissue, the results typically hold for well over a year, and many patients choose a maintenance session each year to preserve them.

Is Sofwave safe, does it hurt, and is there downtime?

Sofwave is FDA-cleared and generally considered safe, with built-in cooling that protects the skin’s surface. Most people describe the sensation as warm pulses or light tingling, and most are comfortable without numbing. Downtime is minimal to none: you may be slightly pink for a few hours, then return to normal activities the same day, including makeup and exercise.

How many treatments will I need, and how much does Sofwave cost?

Many patients see meaningful results after one session, though one or two may be recommended depending on your skin laxity and goals. A session typically takes about one to two hours, depending on the areas treated. Cost varies by region and treatment area, so pricing is discussed at your consultation. Sofwave is a premium, investment-level treatment rather than a discount service.

Is Sofwave better than Ultherapy?

Both use ultrasound to tighten skin, but they work differently. Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound at multiple deeper depths, while Sofwave delivers parallel ultrasound beams to a single mid-dermal depth of about 1.5 mm, the layer where collagen is built. Sofwave sessions are typically faster and more comfortable, with no downtime. Neither is universally better; the right choice depends on your skin, your goals, and a provider’s assessment.

How does Sofwave compare to microneedling and RF microneedling like Vivace?

Microneedling and radiofrequency microneedling build collagen by wounding the skin with needles, which means bleeding, redness, and downtime, and results that depend on how deep the needles are set. Sofwave reaches the collagen-building layer with ultrasound and never breaks the skin’s surface, so there is no open wound and no recovery, and it is safe for every skin tone. For many patients, Sofwave delivers comparable or better tightening with far less downtime.

Is Sofwave a replacement for a facelift?

No. A surgical facelift repositions tissue and removes excess skin to correct significant sagging. Sofwave is a non-invasive treatment for early-to-moderate laxity that firms and lifts by rebuilding your own collagen, with no incisions and no anesthesia. Many people use it to delay or avoid surgery, but it is not a substitute when sagging is advanced.

Where can I get Sofwave from the Center for Aesthetics?

The Center for Aesthetics offers Sofwave at three clinics, all delivered under the protocols of founder and oculoplastic surgeon Dr. Catherine Durboraw: Idaho Falls, Idaho; Jackson Hole, Wyoming; and Scottsdale, Arizona. Choose your location to see local details and book a consultation with the team nearest you.
